Tintoreras is a small islet located near Puerto Villamil on Isabela Island. The Islet has a small and beautiful bay with calm turquoise waters inhabited by sea lions, sea turtles, marine iguanas, and rays. When the tide is low, the entrance to the bay closes, and there’s a shallow crevice where reef sharks (locally known as TIntoreras) swim along with other small fish and sea lions. There is also a lava trail leading to two beaches with mangrove trees and that are used by Marine iguanas as nesting sites.
